Ok so just got the new iPhone 6 today and right now it’s having a fit about not wanting to restore and update as it is currently in recovery mode I have no ability to use it. It worked right out of the box right out of the store just freaked out when it went to get my old stuff onto it. now the problem is my iPhone 5S charger port is worn down from brand new sense i got it pretty much when it came out it’s almost dead now. Anyone here great with apple products that could e-mail me and try and help me solve this?
All open SLS for your time

Story time on how I killed my old Iphone!
I was drunk and decided to take a shower with my phone.

Have you tried cleaning out the 5S charger port? I’m still clinging to a 5S that I waited in line for on launch day. Every few months it will stop charging, but cleaning out the port with a safety pin clears out the lint and dirt and gets it going again.
As for the new one, I would take it to an Apple Store.

I have gotten iDevices out of Recovery Mode before, but PCAdvisor explains it the best:
“To get out of recovery mode, make sure your USB cable is connected to both the laptop running iTunes and your device. You may need to hold the home button while connecting your USB cable as above.
Now hold the home and sleep/wake buttons together until you see the Apple logo appear. Don’t let go until then – it can take several seconds: the recovery graphic will disappear and a black screen might be shown for a while, but keep holding the buttons down until the white Apple appears.
Leave the USB cable connected until your device boots up and shows the lock screen. It’s now out of recovery mode.”
Just reply to this if you have any questions.

All open?? I think not. The boot isn't up.

Definitely try a new charging cable. Then get the new one out of recovery and go again.

I did that a few times, except I was sober and I had a Galaxy S5.

They get finicky. I mean an off the shelf fresh cable. Monoprice. We support about 150 iphones in rotation and a brand new cable hasn’t failed to get a charge on a phone that isn’t busted.

Damn. Have you tried swapping wall warts? Also if it really is that worn a slight nudge to left or right after seating may get it going. Like really slight.
